I encourage local and visiting writers to drop by Frosted Robin cupcake café in Seaport Village, San Diego and say hello. I’m not just the co-owner, I’m also a published author and I love to meet fellow writers. We can share tips and swap horror stories about the burdens of the writing life.
Seaport Village is a charming environment that appeals to everyone, but I suspect writers will love it more than most. Its breezy waterfront walkways are ideal for strolling, daydreaming and brainstorming that next great novel. Picturesque trees are poised to provide that emotional recharge only nature can give. And the endless stream of pedestrian fodder makes for excellent people watching (research for writers). I view Seaport Village as a wonderful hangout for writers and I believe you will too. Give it a try.
My areas of interest are anthropology, space exploration, history, constructive skepticism, robots, global poverty, nature, and about a million more things. I was a television and newspaper journalist for 15 years and have interviewed and written about a long list of interesting and notable people, from Apollo moonwalkers to Nobel Peace Prize winners to Auschwitz survivors. I write a column for a newspaper and there is always another book in the pipeline.
Since childhood I’ve had a passionate curiosity about this strange universe I happened to have been born into and this has fueled my writing career. Thus far, all my writing has been non-fiction but several fictional tales are in my head seeking escape so a few novels are in my future.
When you visit, look for me. I’m easy to spot. I’ll be the guy hunched over an overheated laptop, racing to hammer out one more page before the next batch of cupcakes need icing. See you soon at Frosted Robin cupcake café in Seaport Village, San Diego!
